Information Sessions for Families
Education is key.
Fussy Eating
“I have attended the first webinar, and I was very happy with information that was provided. I am applying some of the things discussed and although my son is not yet trying new foods, he loves cooking, touching foods, serving, smelling. I am sure he will soon start biting few bites here and there.”
— Iulia Stefaniuc, mum of two boys
This is a great opportunity for the families attending your service to learn about what is at play with their little ones’ eating behaviour and to learn strategies to handle it.
Topics covered:
Ellyn Satter’s Division of Responsibility: who does what at mealtimes
Suggestions about what to say and do at mealtimes
How to respond to food refusal
Get set for fuss-free mealtimes
It’s for a group of families from the same service.
This session doesn’t cover feeding children with health conditions nor handling allergies and intolerances.
It’s 1 hour long with Q&A at the end, and delivered online. For on-site (in person) session, please contact us as it may attract extra cost to cover travel expenses.
This session is particularly helpful if your service is already implementing new practices learned in our workshop Managing Fussy Eating in the ECEC Setting as it will support your work at the service by helping your families to better understand changes you might have already done at your centre and implement their own changes at home. It will allow consistency throughout a child’s day’s nutrition, at your centre and then at home.
It suits long-day care centres, family daycare, preschools, primary schools, health, social and community services.
$450 (per centre)
Healthy Lunchbox
“I'm a single dad and I can put a lunch in a lunchbox. But what I can't do for myself is bounce around my own ideas, or easily find healthier or cheaper substitutes. Things I was staying awake thinking about were things like whether my kids had eaten enough, whether they had the right diet long term. Fern really helped with that.”
- G. S., Leura
One way to help families to up their lunchbox game is to provide education and evidence-based information.
Our talks are interactive and to the point, so parents and other carers can have their questions answered in a supportive way, without judgement.
Topics covered:
Nutrition and balance
Safety
